No. The standard camera trigger functions directly through native iOS and Android wireless connectivity without requiring any third-party app installations. The optional companion app is only used if you wish to apply live under-the-surface red-light spectrum color grading automatically.
How does the vacuum pump prevent lens fogging?
Before diving, you connect the included vacuum pump to the case's safety valve. With 4 to 5 quick pumps, the system evacuates 99.6% of ambient, humid air from within the enclosure. This removes the moisture necessary for condensation to form, ensuring 100% fog-free viewports regardless of temperature differentials.
Is it safe for salt-water diving?
Yes, absolutely. The casing is constructed using high-durability polycarbonate, ABS, and aerospace-grade anodized aluminum alloys, which are naturally corrosion-proof. We recommend rinsing the closed case thoroughly with fresh water after every ocean dive to remove residual salt crystals and sand.
What happens if my phone has a thick protective case?
The internal clamps are highly adjustable and fit bare phones or thin protective cases. If you use an exceptionally thick or heavy-duty armor style case, we advise removing it before putting the device in the diving housing to ensure a secure fit and perfect viewport alignment.
